There are many gases whose environmental concentration in confined spaces is legislated by government safety bodies and accordingly, where employers have a legal obligation to provide safe working environments for employees.
Not testing can have dramatic results; an employee can be rendered unconscious within seconds of breathing contaminated air and death can result within minutes.
Given the unforgiving nature of entering a contaminated environment, it is a growing requirement that the atmosphere in the workspace must be tested before entry and continuously monitored while occupied. This includes the availability of well maintained safety equipment.
Maintaining equipment is a substantial investment for most employers. The electrochemical cells used in typical gas detectors drift out of calibration regularly and require re-calibration at least twice a year. This need for regular servicing is a substantial logistical burden to employers and limits the availability of calibrated products.
At Photonic Innovations we deliver gas detectors that are not only the most technologically advanced and the most cost-effective products available, but which also relieve the burden of continuous servicing.
Services Overview
We have innovative gas detection solutions for deployment in the following industries:
use ammonia as a refrigerant. Potential ammonia leaks in engine rooms or inside the cold store are detrimental to the employees and also to the stored food material. Most of the conventional gas detectors do not function reliably at low temperatures (inside the cold stores) and are cross sensitive to other gases leading to false alarms. Our gas detection technology functions reliably at low temperatures and has no cross sensitivity to other gases.
Pubs, Bars and Restaurants have cellars that store carbon dioxide or nitrogen cylinders. Both these gases are silent killers as they cannot be detected via smell. A gas build up in the cellars could be a potential source of accidents. Our gas detectors need to be set in the cellar only once as they will not need any calibration or maintenance. You can be sure that they are doing their job.
This industrial sector is the biggest user of gas detectors as most of the toxic, poisonous and inflammable gases are produced in oil and gas exploration sites. It is absolutely essential that the gas detectors in these industries are properly calibrated and are highly accurate. Maintaining such huge volume of gas detectors costs time and money and via our calibration/maintenance free gas detection technology we can bring the costs down to minimal levels.
Waste water treatment produces toxic gases that are very dangerous to plant personnel. Wastewater treatment plants have lot of confined spaces which require active fixed gas detection monitors. We can provide fixed gas detection monitors for carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide. Custom solutions are also available.
